Serena Masino’s research interests are in the areas of social policy and the political economy of development. In the past, she has worked on institutional and economic instability and how this impacts development. Instead, her latest work concentrates on the political economy of globalisation and foreign direct investment, both in Sub-Saharan Africa and in the periphery of Europe. She has worked as consultant for various United Nations’ organisations including UNDP, WFP, and UNU-WIDER, and for Oxford Policy Managment.
