Karen Jackson

Karen Jackson’s research interests are in the areas of international trade, development and finance. Her recent work explores the historical context of regional trade institutions in West Africa. Moreover, she is continuing this strand of research through ongoing projects considering the impact of the accession of new entrants into ECOWAS. Furthermore, following a period working in China she developed an interest in Chinese economic policy, with a particular focus on the Belt and Road Initiative. Her public policy experience includes working for the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Department for International Development.
