Rukhsana is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Organisations Economy and Society. Her principal research interests lie in the area of labour economics and migration, with a specific focus on assimilation of asylum seekers and refugees in the new society and economy, in terms of their labour market performance and occupational attainment. Most recently she has investigated the variations in rural- urban attitudes towards asylum seekers and refugees using evidence from Great Britain. Her ongoing work is on occupational attainment of second generation of female ethnic migrants.
