Vincent Rich’s background, training and research experience has been in development economics, the political economy of development and natural resource economics. He is particularly interested in livelihoods research – especially as it relates to small-scale artisans, in sustainable business and global value chains, and in social enterprise and entrepreneurship. He has expertise in mixed-methods research and cost-benefit analysis. He also has consultancy experience related to the metals and minerals industry and worked as a freelance commodities expert for the Economist Intelligence Unit, in London.
