Rick is an International Development and Management Economist working extensively with the Government Ministries, higher education industry, and think tanks across the UK, EU and China. His research interest explores the nexus of triple-helix relations, entrepreneurship, and innovation with a specific focus on renewable energy (esp. solar). Within this context, he explores the various institutional arrangements that support renewable energy-based entrepreneurship, and how the latter impacts rural development. In addition, he also publishes extensively on the gig/ sharing economy, future of work, global goals & sustainability, poverty & climate change, agribusiness, rural development, cross-national education, SMEs, organisational culture and leadership. Rick currently sits on editorial boards of several top International peer-reviewed journals and also serves as non-executive director for various nonprofits and charities.
